Goldwater 2016 Sauvignon Blanc (Marlborough)

There is a strong onion aroma here that blows off, allowing aromas of grapefruit, guava, snow pea and tomato leaf come to the fore. Texturally, it's a little lean and mean with mouthpuckering acidity. There's a nice herbal edge on the palate but its lacking in fruit. Christina Pickard
