The Evil Twin is 75% Syrah and 25% Cabernet Sauvignon, aged entirely in new French oak. Tasted just ahead of its official release, the wine seemed to be still in the process of pulling itself together. Barrel accents are particularly strong, with sweet baking spices overwhelming the aromatics. The blackberry fruit turns a bit chalky in the end, with a tart, citrus-flavored finish.
