Winemaker: Gottfried Mocke. This is herbal and minty from the start, with abundant scents of fresh laurel, foliage and mentholated herbs that marry seamlessly with the just-ripe red berry and cherry fruit core. Medium-minus in weight, it boasts a satiny texture and fine-grain tannins that lend a subtle frame to the red berry fruits. Additional notes of light pepper and baking spice unfold on the lengthy finish. Well balanced and still fairly primary and fruit-forward in nature, try after 2022 for additional depth of flavor.
