Graham Beck 2014 Cape Winemakers Guild Crown Cap Fermented Méthode Cap Classique (Western Cape)

Winemaker: Pieter Ferreira. This nearly equal Chardonnay-Pinot Noir bubbly opens with a pronounced herbal character, coupled with some yellow apple and bitter melon pith tones as well as a soft overall toastiness. The palate is super bright and fizzy, with brisk carbonation that settles nicely on the finish. The flavors are like lemon pith and white melon, but they fade surprisingly fast. Lauren Buzzeo
