Granbazán 2015 Limousin Albariño (Rías Baixas)

There's no mistaking the main ingredient in this barrel-driven Albariño, and that's Limousin oak, which gives off extreme aromas of wood grain and turpentine. A plump palate is chunky due to barrel aging, while this tastes mostly of wood resin and related bitterness. While well made, this is what it is: a heavily oaked Albariño cut from its own mold.
