Black-cherry and light clove aromas meet with a delicately layered wood-spice array on the nose of this bottling, which is immediately appealing and accessible. There's a tightness to the tannins on the palate and yet it remains a generous wine, offering bright red fruits, sandalwood and spiced toast amidst fresh and fun acidity. Matt Kettmann
