Grattamacco 2011 L'Alberello (Bolgheri Superiore)

This vibrant blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot opens with aromas of cedar, red currant, graphite and a whiff of grilled red pepper. On the palate, licorice and ground black pepper notes accent a core of juicy black currant and blackberry. It's still tightly wound, with youthfully astringent tannins that need to come around. Drink after 2017. Kerin O’Keefe
