Where the 2020 vintage of this wine is drinking deliciously now, the '19 is more reticent, with the sugar showing more. It requires time in glass to open up. Rich and concentrated, it offers aromas of kerosene, lemon oil, toffee apple and honeysuckle. There's some sweetness on the palate, but just enough acidity to keep it afloat. An intriguing texture adds character. But fruit doesn't quite come to meet the richness in the middle, and it falls a little flat on the finish. Christina Pickard
