94pointsGuarachi Family 2011 Gap's Crown Vineyard Pinot Noir (Sonoma Coast)

A rich, complex, ageable Pinot from this increasingly well-regarded vineyard. It's a big, dark wine, explosive in raspberries, cherries and mocha, but retains a delicacy courtesy of its tannins and acids and some mysterious elegance from the soil. This is easily Guarachi's best Pinot ever, although it's also their most expensive. You get what you pay for. Drink now–2019.
