Gundlach Bundschu 2004 Rhinefarm Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon (Sonoma Valley)

This is one of those Cabs that has the structure and pedigree of a fine appellation, with gorgeously ripe tannins. Yet it also comes from a hot vintage, and the flavors tend toward sweetened pie filling and dessert pastries, which are awkward in a Cabernet. Blackberries and chocolate dominate.
