Gunter Triebaumer 2015 Plachen Blaufränkisch (Burgenland)
The nose is both sonorous and toned with vanilla hints meeting tart, dark fruit. The palate plays a similar game of soft, mellow oak meeting concentrated black and red fruit which is ripe but still has bite. Hints of tar and cinnamon shimmer darkly, while fine tannins, warm alcohol and bright acidity make the mouth water. This is quite a mouthful and will benefit from mellowing. These muscles are all still tightly flexed. Wait for this to relax and drink 2022–2032. Anne Krebiehl MW
