H. Gray 2001 Bad Boy Zinfandel (Amador County)

If you call your wine “Bad Boy,” you'd better back it up with some bad-ass flavor. This is a nice enough wine, but hardly “bad.” Somewhat candy-like, with cherry cough syrup and spice up front and hints of smoke and licorice on the finish. A bit cloying at the end.
