Halos de Jupiter 2019 Red (Châteauneuf-du-Pape)

Editors' Choice

One of the last vintages made by the recently deceased Rhône luminary, Philippe Cambie, this fruit-forward Grenache-Mourvèdre blend will be a sentimental tribute for many. The richly textured wine is packed with succulent black-plum and boysenberry flavors but spry and lifted too, edged by salty, stony minerality and a delicate white-pepper finish. Approachable young, the wine will likely improve through 2030 and hold further. Anna Lee C. Iijima
