All the secondary characters that come into play as a wine matures are really working for this Merlot. The fruit is heading into raisin territory; there're earthy, vineyard floor and horse saddle notes. The palate is silky and savory, although the oak is still a little obvious. Drink now with autumnal cuisine. Christina Pickard
