Housed in a flat plastic bottle seemingly designing for picnics and travel (although also terribly easy to knock over), this Shiraz shows cooked fruit notes of plum and black-currant preserves and licorice, framed in rich chocolatey oak. Medium weight, the plump cherry fruit on the palate falls flat, highlighting the alcohol and drying, oaky tannins. Christina Pickard
