Despite the difficult growing season and low yields of 2019, many wines have emerged as classy and characterful. This Cab offers lucid yet dusty aromas of dark berries, beet root, licorice, white pepper, graphite and bushels of herbs. It's a big wine, cinching the berry fruit and savory herbs in textured, finely sculpted tannins, but there's elegance alongside the muscle. Christina Pickard
