Hawkes 2004 Merlot (Alexander Valley)

At the age of four years, this Merlot is drying out a little bit, showing dessicated fruit and herb flavors that have a touch of olive tapenade. Seems like it would have been fresher a year ago, but it's a pretty nice wine. Drink now.
