Heidsieck & Co Monopole 1988 Diamant Rosé (Champagne)

Perhaps past its peak, the wine is a pleasure nonetheless in so many ways. An amazingly deep rust hue, it smells distinctly of Sherry cask, with the complexity of old yeast. Elegant styling and a precise focus carry the appealing though certainly oxidized flavors all the way through a lingering finish. Paul Gregutt
