The wine's aromas of earth, blackberries, violets and bacon fat tricked my brain into a northern-Rhône state of mind. More black fruit followed on the palate, along with espresso, black-pepper and caramel flavors. Medium bodied, this has elevated acidity and tannins that support without being overly astringent.
