Henschke 2016 Innes Vineyard Pinot Gris (Adelaide Hills)

This wine ain't cheap when compared to others on the market, and it's clearly relying on its famous name, yet this is nonetheless a solid and varietally sound wine. Understated aromas of red-apple skin, stone fruit, and lemon-lime mingle with buttered almonds, blossoms and a touch of honey and white-pepper spice. The palate offers mouthwatering acidity to balance a slightly creamy texture, tied together with apple and spice. It is a solid drop with or without food. Christina Pickard
