The powerful aroma suggests gingerbread, molasses and chamomile tea. On the palate, the sticky-toffee note is enveloped by an intense wallop of peat. An undercurrent of Sherry and gingerbread sweetness runs underneath the smoke, entwining into a mesquite-like smoky-sweet and spicy finish. A splash of water coaxes out a subtle bacon note. Aged 16 years, this limited edition is named for the Norse god Odin and comes packaged in a wooden frame intended to evoke the contours of a traditional Viking long ship. Kara Newman
