Highland Springs 2009 Pinot Noir (Willamette Valley)

A whiff of smoke on entry, then it turns tannic and tight, with thin cranberry fruit driving vertically through the midpalate and on into the finish. Good persistence, though as it fades it turns a little sour. Paul Gregutt
