This is a 90/10 Cab/Merlot blend, dense and oaky. The bourbon barrel flavors and hint of heat on the finish keep it from a higher score, but the dark streaks of mineral, espresso and caramel add interest. The core cherry/cassis fruit is ripe and focused.
