Hoffmann & Rathbone 2019 Bacchus (England)

The first sniff gives an equal measure of elderflower blossom and generous creaminess. There are overtones of nettle, too, as well as hints of vanilla. This thoroughly aromatic but emollient theme carries on throughout on the slender but concentrated palate. Expert handing of oak fills the Bacchus out just where it is needed and presents a beautiful take of still English wine. Anne Krebiehl MW
