Hogue 1997 Barrel Select Merlot (Columbia Valley (WA))

There's sweet cherry fruit in the nose, which follows through on the palate, along with some soft chocolaty tannins. A dark streak characteristic of Columbia Valley fruit runs through the finish, but overall it's an approachable, fairly soft and open Merlot. Paul Gregutt
