Hogue 2001 Genesis Syrah (Columbia Valley (WA))

Complex and inviting on the nose, with aromas of ripe blackberries, toasty oak and pepper. Loses a little steam on the palate, where it shows less fruit and more herbal, rhubarby notes. Still, very good in a somewhat herbal idiom.
