Hogue 2005 Genesis Cabernet Sauvignon (Columbia Valley (WA))

The Genesis Cab has far more stuffing than its companion Merlot, with chewy tannins and alcohol pushing 15%. Still, it seems to lack depth, or at least the sort of appealing fruit flavors that can compensate for a lack of density. It's chewy and red, with a chalky finish that needs some sort of rich food to work through. Paul Gregutt
