This is quite an aggressive wine, with plenty of oak influence. It opens with notes of mealy oak, baked clay, furniture polish and then some raw, primary fruits and spices. There's biting acidity on the palate and the tannins are massive, drying out the mouth, arm wrestling with the fruit and finishing on the bitter, astringent side. Christina Pickard
