Hooker 2011 Front Row Merlot (Napa Valley)

Good black cherry, currant and anise flavors in this dry, full-bodied young Merlot. It's tannic and brisk in acidity, and has a nice edge of smoky oak. Doesn't seem like it has a future, though, so drink up.
