Howard Park 2002 Scotsdale Cabernet Sauvignon (Great Southern)

Has a green asparagus or pepper streak on the nose, plus a dominant acorn note that continues through to the palate, where there's also some just-ripe plum buried under mounds of dust. Winemaker Mike Kerrigan thinks that this is the style of wine that shines better with food, rather than in a wine-by-wine lineup. He's probably right.
