Riley Hubbard is diligently exploring the Central Coast for forgotten sites and underused varieties, and this blend of 69% Carignan from Paso Robles and 31% Syrah from the Cambria coast combines those concepts. Aromas of crumpled purple flowers, cola, nutmeg and light boysenberry lead into a light, fresh palate of leather, dried plum, and damp earth. Matt Kettmann
