90pointsHughes Wellman 2009 Cabernet Sauvignon (Napa Valley)

Give this wine extra credit for sheer power. It's enormous in blackberries, currants and mocha, wrapped into hard, but soft, tannins, a paradox that extends to its drinkability. You can pop the cork now because it's so delicious, but it also has the stuffing to last a good eight years.
