Hungry Hawk 2015 Petite Sirah (San Diego County)

Editors' Choice

Cassis, roasted chocolate, pepper and buttery pastries show on the nose of this bottling, which is thick and dark in the glass and shows great potential for this grape in Southern California. It's dense on the palate, with soft violet and blackberry flavors, wrapped in a tarry structure with hints of nutmeg and cocoa on the finish. Matt Kettmann
