Hungry Hawk 2019 The Kettle Red (San Diego County)

Tarry, somewhat reductive aromas meet with dusty earth and charred wood on the nose of this blend of 78% Tempranillo, 9% Mourvèdre, 7% Sangiovese, 4% Carmenère and 2% Cabernet Sauvignon. Roasted strawberry and red-plum flavors are dusted in light caramel and vanilla, making a pleasant if simple sip. Matt Kettmann
