Il Nuraghe 1999 Chio (Cannonau di Sardegna)

Very intense, with root beer, leather and dried fruit aromas. The full allotment of cherry and plum skin makes for a flavorful yet dry palate, one that's far more precise than it is fat or chewy. With a long, lean finish that's one part pepper and another part tangy red fruit, this wine can match many foods with no problem. Michael Schachner
