Immich-Batterieberg 2005 Detonation Riesling (Rhein-Mosel)

It's an intriguing idea to blend fruit from the Rhine and the Mosel, theoretically balancing the best qualities of each. Astute tasters will catch a little bit of that in this wine, with darker spice notes playing against brighter floral nuances. The result is a pleasant if rather generic Riesling that finishes with soft pear and melon fruit. Joe Czerwinski
