This opens with classic Sangiovese aromas of ripe dark-skinned fruit, new leather, chopped herb, underbrush and a balsamic note. The big chewy palate doles out layers of juicy black cherry, crushed blackberry, licorice and pipe tobacco alongside velvety tannins. It's already approachable but will also offer several more years of fine drinking pleasure. Enjoy through 2021.
