Shy initial aromas of black cherry, black plum, chocolate, vanilla, nutmeg, toasted wood and tobacco slowly release from the glass. The palate shows that this wine is oak-driven, leading with those toasted wood aromas, but also offering those fruits and spices in the background. Tannins, at the time of tasting, are tightly wound, almost tacky. Perhaps time will allow this wine to open up and relax. Stacy Briscoe
