J. Coudray Bizot 2013 Champeaux Premier Cru (Gevrey-Chambertin)

Editors' Choice

Crushed pencil, pine-forest floor and autumnal leaf are the first impressions of this aromatic wine that's clearly evolved, but a heady, sublime note of wild blueberry signals that abundant life and freshness remain. The palate reverberates with bright red fruits and presents a fine-boned structure that still has a slight, wonderful crunch. All the conifer and forest perfume bleeds into that red fruit and leaves you wanting more of that elegance and sprightliness. Anne Krebiehl MW
