J. & F. Lurton 2002 Reserva Malbec (Mendoza)

The bouquet springs with red licorice, black cherry and blueberry, but also a hint of minty green. Not sharp but piquant on the tongue, with hints of cherry candy and grainy oak. Good on the surface but there's not a whole lot underneath. A solid quaff to match with burgers or pizza. Michael Schachner
