J. Lohr 2014 Riverstone Chardonnay (Arroyo Seco)

Light and fresh smells of Key-lime pie, grapefruit rinds and ripe nectarine show on the nose of this versatile bottling from the veteran San Jose-based winery. The grippy, assertive flavors are bright, tight and pithy, with lime rinds, kumquat tang and chalky minerality, proving refreshingly sour. Matt Kettmann
