Jade Mountain 2003 Syrah (Napa Valley)

Very tannic and dry, this Syrah isn't offering much pleasure now. The question is if it ever will. It's a gamble. There is a solid core of blackberry fruit buried down deep, but it may not survive the aging process. To be fair, Tasting Director Joe Czerwinski felt it would age nicely, but the rating reflects the panel's overall impression.
