Jean-Baptiste Adam 2016 Kaefferkopf Vieilles Vignes Grand Cru Riesling (Alsace)

Ripe red and yellow apples, juicy apricot and sunny Mirabelles on the nose are all framed by lemon freshness while something floral, almost like jasmine hovers. This same fruit-driven concentration appears on the dry but very textured palate. There almost is something like apple crispness that is mellow at the same time. The lemony brightness keeps everything precise. The finish is dry and lasting and packs a wonderful, almost salty punch. Drink now–2030. Anne Krebiehl MW
