Jean Becker 2017 Froehn Grand Cru Pinot Gris (Alsace)

Notes of ripe Williams pear are suffused with dried lemon peel on the aromatic nose of this wine. The palate comes in with a sweet, high note of honey around which the fruit coalesces, along with a bright line of lemon. Concentration and texture as well as that dried citrus-rind freshness make this wine precise, while honeyed medium-sweetness makes it mellow. Drink by 2040. Anne Krebiehl MW
