Notions of strawberry shortcake, cream and all, rise temptingly from the glass. With more air, a real sense of buttery shortbread speads out and also makes itself felt on the creamy, smooth palate of this wine. There is a lovely sense of saltiness amid the rich midpalate, with its smooth and fine foam. The bone-dry finish sits well with this gorgeously balanced wine. Anne Krebiehl MW
