Jean Durée V.S.O.P. Fine Cognac

Initial nosings pick up notes of bacon and oak; aeration stimulates, distant scents of chalk, black pepper and dried red fruit. Palate entry is off-dry to semisweet and candied; at midpalate the flavor closes in on itself, shutting out all possibility for depth of taste. The finish is roasted, toasty and bittersweet. P.P.
