Jeff Cohn 2018 Zio Tony Syrah (Russian River Valley)

Savory in black pepper, leather and grippy tannin, this wine is intensely powerful and ripe. Whole-cluster fermentation was used on 40% of the grapes and 40% new French oak encased the wine for 18 months. With a soft underbelly of silky texture, it rides along to the finish in brambly blackberry jam. Virginie Boone
