Jekel 2000 Sanctuary Reserve Malbec (Arroyo Seco)

It's not often that you find an American Malbec that's so easy to drink. Aromas are of coffee and nut, and maybe some dust or wheat. On the palate it's understated but sturdy, with soft tannins and a wheaty-dusty overlay to its plum plum fruit. A straightforward wine, of solid quality. Drink now–2009.
