Jepson's Sauvignon Blancs have long been lauded as among Mendocino's best. Grown along the Russian River, on the flatlands, it's typically racy and crisp. This version is richer and perhaps oakier than in the past, and emphasizes melon flavors over raw citrus. It has the weight of a Chardonnay, and is clearly designed to go with fine foods. —S.H.
