This wine is really coming into its own and starting to show some intriguing secondary characters. There's an umami savoriness and a vegetal streak too, like soy sauce, iodine and roasted beet root amidst the primary cherry and blueberry fruit, florals, peppery spice and tobacco characters. A big wine with tightly woven, textural tannins, it's still remarkably fresh; the tangy fruit is still in the fore. Drink through 2032. Christina Pickard
